PARIS | 2nd RBP-ReguNet CONSORTIUM & REVIEW MEETING

We are in Paris, celebrating our second RBP-ReguNet face-to-face project meeting!

This was a hybrid event, kindly hosted by the Institut Curie and our local supervisor, Prof. Stephan Vagner, where we reviewed the general progress of the project and discussed the individual projects of our fellows. This was probably the most important and engaging part of these face-to-face meetings, where ideas and expertise flowed between teams and collaborations were born.

But since not everything was strictly about RBP science, we also enjoyed a beautiful dinner by the River Seine, with magical views of the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, the Louvre Museum, and more!

And after that weekend, our Fellows stayed in town! This was because they attended the 7th Curie International Course in Post-transcriptional Gene Regulation, which took place from 12 to 16 May. The aim of the course was to provide an overview of post-transcriptional gene regulation at multiple levels, including (pre-)messenger RNA splicing, polyadenylation, modifications (epitranscriptome), localisation, translation and degradation. In addition to lectures by international experts in the field, the course relied on the active contribution of the participants and their interaction with the speakers. Each participant presented his/her scientific project (poster, elevator pitch) and co-chaired a speaker. In addition to long discussion periods after each lecture, participants had the opportunity to meet the speakers every day during coffee breaks and lunch.
